For Crossroads, my detailing focused solely on the train wreck for the entire map, and the areas immediatley surrounding it. All of the train's blockout box cars had already been placed when I began my work, and my job was to make the train feel and look like it had crashed. For example, snow berms were placed to mimic snow buildup relative to the crash, painted terrain to show the snow displacement, warping and destroying the train track, filling some of the train cars with props and scattering them nearby. At this point in my Cold War work I started to communicate more with the artists, working with them some to make sure the final train car assets are made placed as needed. I also started to become more involved with playtesting my own work, finding bugs and level issues, and fixing those issues.
